"In life, there are nothing is free"
I'm not sure who said that, probably a lot of people have said it. Doesn't matter. That's the truest statement in the world.
If you want something, you have to pay for it.
Let's say you want a shiny new Cadillac. You know, without me having to tell you, that if you want to actually drive it, you have to PAY FOR IT.
This doesn't surprise anyone. Then why does it surprise us when we want something from ourselves, that we have to pay for it also.
The thing is, when it comes to personal improvement - moving towards a goal, getting in shape, landing that job, making more money, getting the girl - whatever - we all have to pay for it.
But we can't pay with money.
In life, we pay with PAIN.
Pain. Discomfort. Embarrassment. Risk of Failure. Whatever you want to call it, all positive growth in life boils down to one thing - hitting the pain barrier and then clenching your jaw and pushing through it.
Want a hotter girlfriend than you have had in the past - let me guess, you rationalize to yourself why you can't go up to the beautiful girls in public and start up a conversation.
I can tell you why - it's because you're afraid you might have to go through some pain - in the best case scenario it might be a little awkward - worst case scenario, you get rejected and other people (gasp!) might see!!
Can't seem to lose the weight and get in shape. Because you aren't willing to go through the pain of waking up early , eating less, sweating in the gym, being hungry and sore. You aren't willing to go through the pain.
Oftentimes, whenever we face a challenge in life - namely, getting to the next level in whatever area we desire - we must - MUST - go through the pain barrier, otherwise there is no growth.
The next time you want something , you have to ask yourself, how much pain can I withstand to get through to the other side. If you start small, I promise, you will shock yourself. As you overcome small pain barriers, your tolerance will increase, and just like a muscle, you will get used to the discomfort that comes with painful growth. Pretty soon you will take on larger and larger challenges and conquer any obstacle that comes your way.
....but first, what are you willing to go through to get it.
